I love watching the Olympics and seeing what we humans are capable of achieving. Although a lot of performing well has to do with physical preparation, when the moment comes to show the world what they’ve got, much of it is mental. These athletes are competing at the highest levels and often times, the difference between 1st place and 4th place is incredibly small.

For many of these athletes, they’ve only got one shot to shine. Think about the pressure, what must go through their minds as thousands of fans cheering them on while they’re trying to calm their jitters and focus on the potentially life changing task at hand. That’s excitement.

Most of us will never be in this intense of a situation. However, if you think about it, this life that we live, we too only have one shot at it. Perhaps it’s time to stop messing around and show the world what you’re really made of by pushing yourself to go further than you ever thought possible.

Don’t got fans? Look at yourself in the mirror and cheer yourself on. Don’t feel the jitters? Reach higher, go for grander goals. Don’t feel the pressure or intensity? Realize that life may not be a race against each other, but it IS a race against time.

The clock’s ticking. What legacy will you leave behind?
