When you’re going for a goal that takes months or years to achieve, maintaining your focus is crucial. The main challenge that many of us face when trying to keep our eyes on the prize, is distractions. Distractions can come in all sorts of forms. Most of the time, it’s not even anything big like an emergency. Usually, it’s something just small enough where you don’t even really notice it taking you off course. Fast forward a few months and you wonder what in the world happened to your goal.

With so many things constantly fighting for your attention, keeping your focus isn’t always easy. You’ll have to make a conscious effort to stay on course. There are various things you can do to keep your focus such as writing down and placing your goal somewhere you will see each day or scheduling an action related to your goal into your daily tasks.

One thing I do is to ask myself every now and then whether or not what I’m doing at the moment is taking me closer to my goal and then act accordingly. Give it a try.
