This motivational speech is from the movie Rocky Balboa. It’s about believing in yourself. If you watched the previous Rocky movies, then you know how motivational this movie can be. As he says in the video, it’s not about how hard you get hit. It’s about how you take the hit.
Life will throw you a lot of hits. This can be physical or mental. Challenges or setbacks will be plentiful throughout your life. The people who are able to rise up and surpass everyone else are the ones who know how to handle these hits. How will you react the next time you are knocked down? Will you complain about it? Will you stay down or will you get back up and get ready for another hit? The choice you make will determine the outcome of your life.
I am going through a terrible divorce, by chance I happen to see the movie. As I heard the words from Rocky, it made me realize that he was right. As tough as it has been, when things are at there worst, I tried remember those words and push myself to keep going. Since I have no one to support me emotionally and I am alone I just keep fighting to tell myself that I am a good person. If know else will believe it, then I will continue to believe in myself. Rocky, I feel time is me, that why I feel that I am the only one who believes better things will come.
Sorry to hear about that Larry, but you’re right, better things WILL come especially if you have the right attitude which you definitely have.
In the words of Dream Hampton: “Never waste your time trying to explain who you are to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.”
I wish you the best.
I’m sorry about the divorce, they are ugly things. I’m going through the same thing are now and I feel like my world was crushing. But, I too felt the words of Rocky and I pray and hope things go well for us.
Hi, my name is Janice Chase, My second grade teacher told my mother, she is a fine writer. At 30 I took a writing test….the comment I received was: “You scored very high on a very difficult test.” I kept that test. At 35 I was diagnosed with a mental disease called schizophrenia. After a short battle I came to terms with my condition. At 50; after my children were raised, I wrote and published a book. I love the Rocky motivational videos, this year while writing, I added a Rocky 2 Gonna fly now workout to my life. And as I prepare my books writing, editing, and publishing, I enjoy watching…Eye of the Tiger Rocky tribute. I share my challenges and joys with my children who have been a source of joy and support in my life. Thank you for the Rocky motivational videos. I truly enjoy them. Sincerely, Janice Chase
